    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I thought it was an incredible experience! Despite the limitations of the virtual format, the graduate recruitment team made sure that the scheme still provided plenty of opportunities to interact with people working at A&O in different departments and levels. The virtual sessions were interactive and I would say quite similar to a physical talk. Overall, I think that the scheme was excellent, and provided us with similar insight and exposure to the firm that we would have received under normal circumstances.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt very valued throughout the scheme. The graduate recruitment team was always willing to assist with any difficulties. Further, during all my interactions with A&O lawyers, I felt that they were genuinely interested in talking to us and guiding us through the process.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received plenty of guidance. We were allocated a trainee buddy to help out with any concerns even prior to the scheme. During the scheme, we met several other A&O lawyers who were more than willing to address our queries and help out in any way possible.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think the skills and information would be very beneficial. It made recognise the need to be able to work together with people cutting across cultures and time zones, which is extremely important for working in a global law firm like A&O. It also encourages us to be creative and think out of the box as lawyers.
