    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was a very enjoyable placement, I have taken many different jobs and learned a good amount of things and gained valuable experience. BMW culture at Farnborough is amazing.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Was treated as if you are part of the main team and you are encouraged to speak up and talk about any changes that should be made.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • At the start there are a lot of support and as time passes it becomes more and more handsoff approach where you start doing your own things now. If you are stuck or need help, you will always be able to ask someone on you team.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • First week of the month is usually always busy due to month-end tasks I have done. Outside of that, I had a balance time of busy with certain job I would get and a bit slower times with simpler manual tasks sometimes.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a lot of responsiblities after a few months of working. In the end, responsibilities increase and decreases depending on how much you can do.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Learned a lot of things from life skills on how to behave to learning softwares that the company uses.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The general atmosphere was amazing, the office was great and my team would talk and gossip and have fun while working. As long as you can complete your work on time without mistakes or minimal amount of mistakes, they had no problems.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was organised quiet well for my work to have been set up on time. I feel like there could be improvement on how fast it can be for new people in general.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Had to go through a lot of training such as GDPR, Cyber Security, etc and had to complete them within certain time.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Company Parties/Events

    Above 25 days holiday

    Working from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • They do not offer jobs to anyone but it becomes easier to join the company back again. Infact one of my colleagues that joined within the first few months of my intership, she was an intern 2 years before I started.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • For the most part there are good opportunities to have a decent social life with other student. But that is on you after work. There are student meetings every now and then with activities to get to know each other as well.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Cost of living for a year is around 5.5-6.5k. I didn't choose to live and commuted instead. Big regret and you should live in the area if you can.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Didn't live in the are so can't tell.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
