  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I developed so many skills during the insight as there was such a focus on developing the competencies Teach First look for in their trainee teachers. This meant my confidence, communication, interaction, self-evaluation (guided personal development sessions) and leadership skills were all explored, developed and expanded over the two days.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The structure was super good and we were sent a timetable of the insight in dance so we could prepare so that was super useful. The structure allowed us lots of breaks for lunch and dinner and we had break out rooms too if we wanted to talk to others during our breaks.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I think they invested a lot because they told you all about the different opportunities following the insight and gave you a good indication of how to approach your application and development centres. This would make it super useful if you were to apply for their training programme as they ere such a good help.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • It was virtual.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • We had the chance to network with a variety of staff and ask questions such as Development Leads, HR Staff, the Insights team and people who were in recruitment. This meant we could ask questions about the interview process and the development centre which was super useful if you were to apply.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • We had a quiz at the end of the first day which was super good for networking and becoming more social with the other candidates on the insight day. It was super fun and relaxed and provided a different line of communication and enjoyment outside that of the Insight day itself.

  • Yes we heard from a variety of different outside companies such as PwC, Action Tutoring, Team Up and Tutor Trust who all told us about what they do and how we could get involved. This was super useful as it will help us boost our CV and our applications to jobs.
