Vacation Scheme student

For an online scheme, it was fantastic. We had fantastic engagement with partners, associates and trainees. We even had a session with the London Managing Partner. Very well organised and the technology run surprisingly well.

Difficult to answer as this was online, but we were made to feel very comfortable to speak to everyone at the firm. All staff were interested in us and our journeys into law.

We were provided with lots of information and guidance on how to approach the week and how to get the most of it.

Very well structured. Enough to fill our time but also enough free time to engage with our own tasks. My only comment would be to possibly to have a background brief on the tasks that were provided.

Fantastic, very inclusive and friendly. We were really made to feel as if we were at home, so to say. All of the pannelists were very engaging and seemed to enjoy speaking to us. We were able to follow up with everyone that we spoke and they were very kind to always reply with a helpful anser.

I felt that BCLP invested A LOT of time into the vacation scheme students. I left the experience with the thought that if grad rec, associates and partners invest that much time in students then how much do they invest in trainees, which is great!

A lot of insight into what we would be involved in as trainees. It was also very insightful that each department provided specific details of what their trainees get involved with.

Something that really stood out was that although the scheme was virtual, I really got a feeling of what is like to work for BCLP. It was great to see that lawyers in each department were genuinly friends rather than just work colleagues. I EXTREMELY liked the culture of BCLP and hope to experience it in person, which I am sure would be even better.

Reinforced my desire to be a solicitor at an International commercial law firm.

We were paid for our one week virtual scheme which was very generous of the firm and were provided Just Eat vouchers for the social.

The virtual coffee function was fantastic. I had one-to-ones with atleast 10 lawyers including partners.

For a virtual scheme, it was great to have a virtual break out room which was great fun.

Yes we were informed of the activities outside of work, but maybe a little more information about the social groups and people from those groups would have been nice.
