    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I found the internship a great learning experience, it taught me how the business works and where i can see myself in the future. The whole journey was extremely rewarding, fun and challenging.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • It was amazing to feel part of the company and valued for the work i did especially being much younger and less experienced. My thoughts and advice were taken into account and treated fairly just like the others. I wasn't 'Just an Intern'. I was an employee.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had a lot of support from everyone in the company. I got the time to put in 1:1s with anyone i required help from and all very lovely and supportive of any questions i had. I also wanted to explore out of my department, to see how other areas worked and talking to others really helped me get a better understanding

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • My workload depended from time to time. Some days were tough and there wasn't enough time in the day however some days were mostly free. To spend time on the free days there were always resources and exams to revise for to deepen your understanding about the Microsoft tools.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Being able to network allowed me to know more people and understand their roles and responsibilities. I have made friends ill be able to contact in the future. The Microsoft examinations have been a great way to broaden my learning while also showing proof of my achievements making me a better candidate.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very relaxed and friendly. Coming into work the environment was motivating to start work. The people around you made it relaxed allowing you to ask questions, ask about them and grab a quick coffee together for a break. There was lots of space to work and always the ability to book rooms for meetings or study sessions.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was reasonably set up. The first few months were a bit confusing difficult to understand the expectations, and would of been useful to have that clarity of what we're expected to do, the contacts to identify and where to make a start however.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Microsoft has specific learning days once every month which are so beneficial especially when skilling up and taking the certifications. They allow you to invest time into a specific area, and the PowerApp App in a Day workshops and azure workshops allowed me to learn an area. Super helpful.
