About You
The virtual spring internship of Goldman Sachs was a real eye opener into the companies culture. It was incredible to see how committed, engaged the workers are to GS. Reversely, GS put forward how they encourage employees to be high achiever and performant but also how they focused on their wellbeing. Overall, the program gave us great insights about the organization, the atmosphere at Goldman Sachs and made us excited to potentially work there.
The company valued us in the way that they organized recruiter open hours during which we were only 8-10 interns. These sessions allowed us to discuss openly with the recruiters and ask specific questions about the recruitment. Moreover, the firm had really put some effort into finding us buddies implicated in our internship that gave us great advice. Finally, having done the individual project and presented it in front of my buddy was really challenging and empowering.
We received several emails from the firm regarding the organization of the programme. Everyday, GS sent us an email about the zoom session and about the readings to complete.
The virtual spring internship was rather an informative program than a program that really developed my skills. However, I would say that the individual project and its presentation was a real eye opener into the work that analyst do in Securities. This project really developed my analytical skills and pitch skills.
The Company
The virtual experience was quite well structured. Though, I regret not having had more time to ask questions. The talks and sessions were interactive and lively.
The general atmosphere of this virtual internship was not as stressful as I thought. It was serious but not formal.
The company invested time and human Ressource into our training. It was amazing to see all the people that had been mobilized for the programme
Having met competent, high skilled, ambitious analysts that were really committed to their work at the firm was inspiring. The programme itself gave us a great sense of how challenging, thrilling was GS environment
The company gave us a great insight of its culture with the diversity of analysts and speakers that we met. Moreover, the buddy program was amazing to see how analysts’ daily work was organized and structured.
This virtual programme really made me consider securities as a future career path. I really want to discover the job more comprehensively to see if this would suit me.
Everything Else
I was paid for the two weeks programme the same amount that I would have been if the internship was in London and not virtual
No sadly, due to the virtual programme and the complexity of having to plan sessions for 140 interns, we did not having any proper networking sessions.
Does not apply because we did not have proper networking sessions
Yes, I was great to discover the philanthropic work the company is involved in. I had a great time learning about the different charities and activities the company was involved in. Moreover, employees gave us great advice about how to manage our life balance.
This spring internship was a great first insight inside the company. I have enjoyed learning more about GS, its culture, its people.
