The Role
I have had one of the best years of my life here at Microsoft. I couldn't have picked a better company to start my professional career at. It is quite simply an amazing place to be.
Not once did I ever feel like I was belittled by anyone. The culture at Microsoft is special, shown by my teams motto 'Better Together'. My opinion and input is valued just as much as a colleague of higher seniority.
My manager has been great, and I have 1:1 meetings with her most days. The amount of time she has invested into me has been amazing, and something I am eternally grateful for. The guidance has helped me develop a great amount.
The job has its peaks and troughs with each day being unique. However when you do have a quiet day, you quickly learn how to make it a busy one. The opportunities at Microsoft are endless and the freedom your given is perfect.
From the get go I was told that my role is a proper job, and not just one put in place for an internship. This meant I had colleagues who would be depending on me to produce the expected standard of work, which has been a great experience.
I have always said that the skills I have been learning over the year have been most transferable. Whilst there are specific role-based skills that need to be perfected, the other skills you pick up can be taken into almost anything.
The Company
The atmosphere is great, everyone always seems to be happy. It's a great place to be. I look forward to going in every day.
The whole Early In Career scheme at Microsoft is great. The amount of time invested into the internship makes you feel so valued.
Microsoft encourage you to complete as much training as possible, including the offering of all the fundamental exams for free.

So appealing! I'm currently in the process of applying to the FY22 Graduate program!
The Culture
Yes, most certainly. There is an Intern Committee which includes the role of a Social Lead, who organised various socials across the year.
Reading isn't the cheapest, but by no stretch is it unaffordable. I go to Uni there as well so I've been in Reading for almost 3 years, and I'm still surviving!
It's got everything you need, especially with the student nights through the Uni.
Yes! To name one, I joined the football team and actually went to Munich for a tournament.
