    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • My placement at Oracle has been amazing. I am currently studying Law at University and seeing how the law is applied in a commercial setting brings the subject to life. Oracle have been great at getting every intern involved in a vast array of activities and events that I will never forget.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My team were very welcoming from the beginning and were instantly good at giving me work to do and trusting my judgment regarding issues that we would look at together.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • As well as having regular meetings with management to discuss workload and targets for my placement year, there is always day to day support available for interns to get feedback on their work and even non-work related issues.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • As with anything, there are times where you are busier than others. However, at Oracle I have been given a number of project based tasks that would occupy my time if there was no immediate work that needed attention. This set-up meant that I would never have nothing to do.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • With a legal placement, it is difficult to be given total responsibility over matters as I am not a qualified lawyer at this stage. However, with this being said, there are many instances where I have been given the lead role in dealing with queries that come across the Legal department with only soft guidance from my colleagues.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • This placement year has been invaluable for me. There are genuinely countless different training sessions and general professional lessons that i have learnt on a day to day basis that will serve me well during my final year studies and past that, being able to find a permanent role post graduation.

  • The intern program at Oracle has been filled with a vast amount of opportunities and activities that are geared towards learning and developing professional skills as well as receiving lessons from professionals in the business that have been in our shoes and made it to a respected high level in their field.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The sheer amount of development sessions that were put on for the intern program were simply amazing. So many sessions ranging from presenting to online presence in a professional capacity. I feel as if I have developed my professional self great amounts during my year at Oracle.
