    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I found the insight very interactive which was great given that it had to be organised as virtual this year. The highlight was definitely the buddy programme being able to frequently Zoom call my buddy and talk freely about anything I was curious on really made the insight feel very personalised.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt very valued during my time in the internship due again largely to the buddy programme and knowing that we had specifically been allocated a port of call for advice and any help. I think the recruiters and organisers really putting in the effort to arrange this for us interns was truly amazing especially as we can all appreciate how busy our buddies are.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I felt I received a lot of guidance and support- I felt that if I had any questions during the programme, I could email campus recruiting directly or ask them during the Recruiter Open Hours and if it was more answering technical questions, I found it very easy to contact my buddy who was willing to give us a lot of him time despite his busy schedule.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think to a large extent I gained many skills that I can utilise in my studies and beyond with a large part being teamwork as I had the great opportunity to work in a team and deliver a project which required a lot of coordination and communications-especially with the insight not being in person.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • I felt that the insight was very well structured ensuring that us interns were not overwhelmed with our outside commitments such as schoolwork but also ensuring that we did get an insight into many of the different business areas throughout the weeks as well as gain a real understanding of the culture at Goldman Sachs.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • I found that the atmosphere was definitely very human and friendly and welcoming. Everyone was willing to help if you needed anything and the sessions were all hugely invective with speakers keen to answer all and any questions we had for them. I felt everyone was friendly and really keen to get us interns engaged with the firm.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I think thee firm invested quite a lot into us and this was most evident with the buddy programme and the assigning if a personal buddy in our division of interest to really help us gain an insight into the division. I felt in terms of training, our buddy was open to answering any technical question as well as the research project itself really allowing us to independently train our skills and gain feedback at the end of it too.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I felt that the insight was good in helping us to understand what it would be like to have a full time role in the firm as it blended very nicely the presentations giving us an overview of each of the business divisions with actually inviting analysts to speak to us and tell us their own first hand experiences which was all very helpful. Combined, it managed to ensure that we gained a very holistic view of the firm.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • I felt that the insight gave us a very good insight into the culture at the firm. this was achieved through the events talking about the firm's values and aims but also when interacting with the people within the firm, I feel you can really gain an idea into what the clue of the firm is really like through the people who work there.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I thought the content was very valuable as I had the opportunity to ask as many questions as I needed and this helped me to consolidate my divisional interest even more and gave me confidence that this was indeed the future career path that I wanted to pursue moving forward.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Despite it being a virtual programme, the firm maintained their monetary commitment to us and ensured we were paid.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were many different opportunities for us to meet the employees of the firm from a more personal level with our buddy and the Recruiter Opening Hours to a wider level with all the other interns in the virtual events. This allowed us to get into contact with many different employees of the firm from a variety of different business divisions.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • I found the networking opportunities quite good with my favourite of course being the buddy programme as I managed to connect with my buddy on a more personal level and build that relationship over the 2 weeks which was very good and appreciated on out end for all the interns.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • I found out about many of the different activities that employees can get involved in outside of work through the live virtual sessions and the Q&A that the firm held. This ranged from weekly team socials to more firmware philanthropic projects to help the community with such activities highly pushed by the firm which was great to hear.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would definitely recommend this insight to a friend as it balanced very nicely gaining a deeper understanding of the firm with gaining some technical skills in your division of interest which was done very nicely by the firm. it was an overall very good learning experience that I would highly recommend.
