    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed it. The fact that Goldman Sachs made accommodations for us during this pandemic and still managed to give us an excellent internship experience is incredible. While other firms were canceling spring and summer internships, Goldman Sachs stayed true to its commitments and delivered a unique experiential learning experience,

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt very valued during my time at Goldman Sachs. During my time there, we attended pannel discussion and Round Table conversations with some of the top partners at the firm. It was great to see people with incredible lived experiences, who've been trailblazers in their own accord. The fact that these folks took time out of their busy days to educate the new interns made me feel very valued at the firm.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I was assigned a mentor as soon as I got through the interview process. Before day 1 of my internship, I was introduced to my virtual buddy. Both my mentor and my virtual buddy, checked-in on me frequently and offered their expertise. It was great to have a support system from day 1.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I got to sit in on talks about emerging markets, the market's reaction to COVID-19, and much more. These talks were very insightful and I personally learned a lot from them. I was given a research assignment, and my virtual buddy walked me through some of her personal tips for legal research. I learned how to use a few utility tools on Westlaw and Lexis.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The program was very well structured. The virtual buddy and our mentor walked us through sone of the more complex components. We often got email reminders about the session a few days ahead of schedule. The sessions had a lot of time in between them. This gave us a lot of time to prepare for the sessions.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The overall atmosphere was great throughout the internship. The people were very helpful, they encouraged the participants to continue asking questions. They spent about 10-15 minutes each session asking questions for the attendants.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm invested a lot of time and money in helping the candidates develop their interpersonal and communication skills. They always encouraged the candidates to book coffee meetings with folks from senior administration. During the internship, we were asked to research various topics and create presentations on them for our virtual-buddies.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would absolutely recommend this to a friend. Personally, I look for three things in an internship, opportunity to grow, a chance to connect with industry professionals, and the ability to work with an organization that truly cares about society. Goldman Sachs checks all these boxes for me. I got to meet some incredible lawyers, I learned a lot about the industry from titans in the filed. Goldman Sachs excellently portrayed its community involvement and encourages everyone at the firm to get involved.
