    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Citi's first ever virtual spring week was a real success! They had sessions which covered a broad range of their services from Corporate and Investment banking to Treasury and Trade Solutions as well as Sales and Trading. Very senior managing directors gave many of the presentations which ensured all the spring interns were able to learn from their wealth of knowledge!

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Citi really valued the interaction and engagement that all of the spring interns had with the virtual programme. We all had the opportunity to share our 'interning from home' pictures which were then later shared with the intern class and helped everyone to feel as if they had undertaken the programme in person at the offices.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • During the virtual spring insight programme we each received a buddy who worked in the division we had applied to. We were able to call them, reflect on our experiences at Citi and ask any questions we had. The support and career guidance provided by all members of HR was very open and honest.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Despite the spring programme being virtual this year, the presentations given from many different departments in the bank really helped us to explore where our interests lie which is what the spring week is all about! It has helped me to decide which additional modules at uni would be most beneficial for me to take given my career aspirations at Citi.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The virtual spring insight programme was very well organised. We were provided with an agenda which detailed all of the sessions and the time they were taking place. Plenty of breaks where scheduled into the day to ensure we had a chance to stretch our legs and refresh which was very considerate.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere of Citi's virtual spring insight was that of inclusiveness and support! All members of HR were there for us to make sure we were well and looking forward to the programme ahead. In most sessions more than 100 questions were submitted to the speakers, so everyone was really engaged!

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The virtual spring insight programme was designed as a means for Citi to invest in our training and development and that's exactly what they did! This was through a series of insightful presentations into different areas of the bank and the countless opportunities to ask your burning questions to very knowledge and senior members of the bank!

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The virtual spring insight programme really helped me to understand that Citi is a truly international bank which has a culture of inclusivity, teamwork and always putting the client first. The PathMotion virtual chat session in which they had analysts from sales and trading as well as investment banking to answer our questions on their day to day roles really helped with understanding Citi's culture.

  • The content provided in Citi's virtual spring week has most definitely helped me to decide on my future career path! This is because through hearing from senior members about the work they undertake, you really understand the key knowledge and skills you need to succeed in your role at Citi.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Seeing as this years spring week was virtual and therefore everyone attended from the comfort of their own homes, there were no expenses which we needed to be reimbursed for. However if the programme had happened in person, Citi were willing to provide accommodation in a hotel close to the office.

  • I would most definitely recommend Citi's spring week to anyone wanting to get a better understanding of what a career in a truly global bank is really like! The programme exposed me to employees of the bank from analyst level right up to the c-suite - these opportunities don't come around too often!!
