    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The insight itself, despite being virtual as opposed to in person as originally planned, was incredibly insightful. I thoroughly enjoyed the presentations, atmosphere, and overall competence demonstrated by everyone behind the experience. Furthermore, it was divided very effectively in terms of focus on different divisions. I highly recommend this to students.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • i felt valued throughout the whole experience at citi. however, it is important to consider that because it was online, it is difficult to feel as valued as you normally would in person. nevertheless, there was plenty of interaction and opportunity to speak up. very well done overall, highly recommend.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • there was indeed plenty of guidance. our questions were highly valued and answered to the best of their ability. furthermore, the environment we were in really fostered a connection with the other interns. we were also readily given email addresses and other points of contact should we have needed them.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • they will help me greatly. although this was an internship in a financial institution, and i currently study social sciences, i can see a coherent link between the two realms of study. furthermore, this internship has shown me skills and interests that i know i will continue to exhibit regularly.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • very well structured. for a 3 day shortened insight, the structure was effectively broken down between divisions, goals of the company, environment, etc. even though i applied for one division, i was able to learn about all of the other divisions in the company as well, which was undoubtedly helpful

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • very positive and supportive. again, although it was online and there was limited opportunity for any atmosphere to be exhibited, it was nonetheless very positive. i genuinely thought that we were very important and it was appropriately laid back when it needed to be. very professional as well, which overall made a very good mix

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • the firm invested lots in us i would say. however, it is a little difficult to do so online. nevertheless, the organisers of the insight incentivised participation and developing our knowledge. also, we are being kept up to date on the chance to convert to a summer internship. that alone demonstrates their interest in us.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • to a pretty great extent to be honest, despite being online. although it would have been better to continue in person (not possible due to current circumstance), we were nonetheless given good insight as to how the company works and what the atmosphere is like. this was especially the case when talking to current employees.
