    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The insight day was a really great eye-opener to the world of consultancy. It was both informative and inspiring, with a panel of women in consultancy answering our questions. It was very useful to find out what future paths we can take from here to progress our careers with EY.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt very valued during my time on the day, even with the added stresses of it having to be a virtual experience due to the Covid-19 outbreak. We were encouraged to ask questions and it was a very inclusive, positive environment. The work that we had done to get to that point was recognised and praised.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • There was clear support throughout the session. With it being changed to a virtual event, we were given instructions and guidance as to how to enter the online meeting and what to do if we experiences any troubles. The speakers were constantly keeping in touch to make sure we could all see and hear what was happening.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The information regarding having confidence as a women entering the business world was incredible valuable. In addition the advice on identifying your strengths and what skills that we had gained, and keeping note of that we very useful. The information was not necessarily relevant to my degree, but definitely will be useful in the workplace.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The day was very well structured. We had a clear agenda, which was adhered to down to the minute. The schedule included frequent breaks and no session was too long. There were no technical hiccups and all of the speakers were there for there parts and to answer questions afterwards.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Although it was an online event, the atmosphere on the call was very positive. It was clear through the chat box that everyone was very excited to be there and all of the women who spoke to us were very positive. It really did feel like they cared about helping us progress.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company were very interested in helping the progression of our careers and helped to show us the different paths that we can take from this point. There was information on how best to develop ourselves which will help us in our future job searched, interviews and assessment centre situations.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • It was very useful to hear from the panelists what their everyday life is like in EY. They also told us about their career progressions from the start of their time with the company which gave good insight about the different career progressions that occur in EY. It was very insightful.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • It can be quite difficult to understand the culture of a company without going to the offices or meeting the staff personally, but they did a really great job describing what it was like to us given the circumstances of the day occurring virtually. We got quite a good insight into the company culture.

  • It was very valuable in helping to decide a future career path. We were given information on all of the different service lines of consultancy and what each one of them could be like. It was very helpful to hear about what different prerequisites are required for different service lines.
