    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • The insight day gave me a great idea to what it would be like to work for The Bank. I really enjoyed my day there and it gave me an idea to what an assessment center is like. For example, we had to complete a group project in timed conditions.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?

    • I felt very valued during the day. The event was very well organised, there was someone at reception to greet us and point us in the right direction. The lady running the day made sure to answer all of our questions in as much detail as possible.

    • Due to the nature of the event, we were not given much guidance and support. But if we needed anything we could just ask

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • The skills I learnt from my Insight Day have assisted me greatly. It has enabled me to be in a confident place when attending assessment centers for jobs, as part of the Insight Day we had to complete a group project and have a networking event with current employees.

    • The insight was very well structured. We had a plan of what we were doing throughout the day

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?

    • The atmosphere throughout the day was okay. However, I think it could have been better, as we only really got to work with the people on our tables we sat down on at the start of the day.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?

    • The insight gave us details to what it would be like working for The Bank of England, which was great. We got to hear from current graduates who work their and got their opinions. This was really great as it gave me a rounded perception of the Bank.

    • The insight helped me understand the culture of the company. I learnt that it was often a 9-5, with a focus on work life balance.

    • It was very useful! Not having a background in economics, it gave me an insight into what roles are available for someone like me!

    • I was reimbursed for my expenses.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • Yes, we had a 30min networking event with current employees of The Bank. This allowed us to ask a variety of questions to them.

    • Yes definitely. The Insight Day provided me with a lot of information regarding placement opportunities and gave me a head start in my placement search and what I should be expecting.
