Deloitte Spring Insight Review

Very informative 2 days at the Reading office meeting people from various top universities as well as networking with many employees. Very good networking meal between the 2 days at the Malmaison where we stayed for 1 night giving us a chance to speak to employees in a more informal setting. Overall great experience.

Everyone was very happy to help and always more than happy to answer any questions you had. Felt valued all the way through as employees were very friendly. Organisers made sure we were happy and comfortable throughout the 2 days ensuring everyone's viewpoints were considered. Gave out prizes to winning groups over the 2 days

As it was only a 2 day insight program there was little chance for guidance however when possible for example in the 'Tax Pitch Game and Presentation' the student recruitment and employees gave good advice and tried to help as much as possible which was good as it was quite challenging.

As this was only an insight program the focus was not so much on developing skills however I suppose you could say our networking skills were developed. We received a lot of information regarding the company, culture and roles within the firm therefore in this sense it was very informative. Main focus was Tax so learnt a lot about a sector I had never considered before.

Overall well structured however at some points got a little tedious as there were many presentations by different people, with some information repeated. On day 1 the structure was more presentations giving an insight into Deloitte's culture and the potential roles you could apply to. Day 2 was more interactive with the chance to produce a VLOG about your experience in groups as well as completing a tax pitch game which involved you presenting in front of employees ranging from analyst to partner.

Very friendly atmosphere, all employees happy and down to earth. Many networking sessions enabling you to ask any questions you were unsure about. Atmosphere was laidback and relaxed giving a good vibe about the company with work life balance and employee benefits being promoted from the outset. Overall seemed like an excellent place to work

By speaking to various employees we gained a good insight into what it would be like to occupy a full time role within the firm. It seemed as though every employee I spoke to was more than happy with their job and stressed how good of a company Deloitte was to work for in terms of flexibility and the social side to the job.

Enabled me to find out more about a career path I had never considere before, Tax. As a result will be completing a 6 week summer internship in Business Tax Consulting which I gained as a result of attending the spring program so potentially very helpful in deciding a future career path.

All travel expenses reinbursed. Food and snacks provide throughout the 2 days as well as an evening meal, breakfast and an overnight stay at the Malmaison. Very enjoyable experience with the company clearing striving to ensure everyone was comfortable and well fed depicting a very good image of the firm.

Several networking sessions throughout the 2 days as well as a networking meal at the Malmaison hotel which was also a social event. 3 course meal enabling us to speak to employees and get to know other students on the program over some very fine food and drink, extremely enjoyable.

Yes would recommend as you can convert it into a Summer Internship after 1 face to face interview. It is a great opportunity to expand your student and professional network and can potentially if you convert the summer internship lead to a graduate job in the company therefore is a fast track into a job at Deloitte
