Summer Vacation Student Review

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Deloitte. Although I was only there for 3 weeks, I was able to work with multiple different companies and teams. Each day brought something different and I was looking forward each morning to the day ahead. I would highly recommend this insight to people thinking of applying.

I felt very valued during my time at the company. I felt that all members of staff showed appreciation for the skillset I brought to the firm and I was given plenty of opportunities to apply these.

There was constant support throughout my placement and regular check in’s with my manager to make sure I was enjoying myself and getting the most out of my placement. My colleagues were always happy to help if I had any questions and I felt comfortable and supported throughout my time at Deloitte.

I learnt and enhanced key skills such as time management and working as part of a team during my insight. The insight also improved my confidence and gave me experience in how to handle myself professionally in a work place, which is a skill I will take forward in my future career.

During the insight I was given my work commitments in advance so I knew where I would be working and what company I would be working for. A member from each time I worked with always contacted me before I was due to work with them and gave me an insight into what I would be doing. I felt the insight ran smoothly and I was able to get the most out of my time there.

The atmosphere was the perfect balance between professional but also relaxed and friendly. There was always a positive strong team spirit which made the days enjoyable, and kept everyone motivated throughout the day.

Before I began working with a team at Deloitte I was given 2 days of training. One in London and one in the Manchester office. Then when I began my placement I felt prepared and confident that I would be able to tackle any challenges that I would encounter. Deloitte invested a lot of time and effort into ensuring I was well trained for this experience.

During my time I worked with many different teams both in office and on client site. I also was given tasks which spread across the whole of the audit process and so I was able to get a feel for what it would be like to work for Deloitte.

This insight helped my fully understand the culture and policies of Deloitte.

The content on the day was extremely valuable and was played a vital role in my decision-making process of choosing a career path. Moreover I was offered a graduate job following my placement for my dream job which im extremely grateful for.

Yes. I was able to meet staff of Deloitte on all different levels including partners and whilst on client site I was also able to connect with clients.

Before I began my internship we had a training day in London where I was able to meet other vacation students I would be working with in Manchester but also students who were working in other locations. At the end of our placement, our buddies organised a social for Manchester students, and there was also a social in London for all members of the vacation scheme.

Yes. I found out about many different activities Deloitte employees get involved in both inside and outside of work.

I enjoyed every minute I spent at Deloitte. I learn valuable skills that I will use for the rest of my career and met like minded individuals. I would 100% recommend this insight.
