Audit Review

The insight into Audit at Deloitte was an incredibly rewarding experience. I enjoyed all aspects of the scheme including working on an audit as a team, interacting and working with the clients, and also meeting many different levels of people within Deloitte and learning about the way they work. I would definitely recommend this vacation scheme to anybody wanting an insight into auditing.

Whilst working at Deloitte I felt incredibly valued and prioritised by my team. Each member of the team took time to get to know me and assist with my learning on the job, which enhanced my experience greatly. By the end of the 3 weeks I felt like I was an important part of the team and would have loved to stay longer.

Throughout every task I felt I was supported as much or as little as I desired. More precisely, if I needed help or guidance then I was supported by many members of the team, but I was also largely trusted to do my own work without the support of the team.

Throughout the summer vacation scheme I improved important skills such as time management, work ethic and team work. In particular, being able to manage my time well is significantly important within my degree where I juggle many tasks and assignments at once. Overall the scheme has improved my work ethic and given me something to aim for after university.

The insight was very well structured throughout the 3 weeks. The training at the start was well layed out and took up a good proportion of the 3 weeks, not using up too much time but also ensuring that we were well equipped for the work. The feedback process was very good.

The general atmosphere was very supportive and energetic. Everyone on my team had a certain energy to complete the work to the best standard which was contagious and ensured we worked well as a team. Everyone was also very supportive and this was noticeable throughout every piece of work I completed.

In the short period of 3 weeks the firm managed to invest a lot of time in training me up to do the work and allowing me to try out lots of different new things. It was a challenging job every single day but I was constantly learning which was very rewarding.

The insight was very insightful! The role I had in the office was similar to the newer people in the team which was a realistic assumption of what I would be doing in a year or 2 with a career at Deloitte. Everything I did was needed and I completed a variety of tasks.

Throughout the 3 weeks of this insight I learnt a lot about the way that Deloitte works as a company, as well as what it would be like to work with them. This experience was particularly effective at showing what it would be like to work for Deloitte full time.

This was a very valuable insight and everything I did throughout the day was similar to what I would do if I did take this job in the future. It was extremely successful in helping me decide my career path as I decided that this sector is the sector I would like to work in and in particular I would love to work for Deloitte.

There were lots of opportunities to meet people at all different levels of the firm, with all different types of experience. I felt comfortable approaching any staff and I received good advice for my future of work both on the job but also off the job. I met a large variety of people.

The social opportunities were great and gave me the chance to meet new people with similar and different mindsets and ambitions. I enjoyed meeting other people on the internship as well as people who had worked at the firm for over 10 years.

There are lots of opportunities whilst working at Deloitte and I would love to get involved with them if I did have the chance.

I would definitely recommend this to a friend. It was an insightful experience, meeting lots of great and like-minded people along the way. It has helped me to decide on my future career as well as develop important life skills which I will use throughout my degree and onwards in life.
