    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • We were given the opportunity to speak to a wide variety of staff, and the employees we shadowed made a conscious effort to tailor the programme to our interests

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • The staff at PwC really made an effort to speak to us regarding the company and their roles. These staff were even at senior levels, taking the time out of their busy schedules to speak to us!

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Unfortunately the consulting programme was around summer, so the mixture of the two led to a lot o resources being out of the office. However, the employees we did shadow were excellent in ensuring we had enough to do in which was of interest

    3/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Really helpful! I was given the opportunity to speak to a senior director for an hour on the aspect of consulting I was interested in pursuing as a careers and also a thesis topic. This was a fantastic opportunity as he gave a lot of insight into the division and willingly let me ask many questions to further my understanding.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Due to staff being on holidays, we did not get assigned our 'buddies' until the morning. However, they did a great job of informing us on what was happening on their projects and clients. The nature of the work is fast-paced so we remained flexible in terms of speaking with different staff members or meeting clients when the opportunity presented itself.

    3/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • A really relaxed atmosphere, and the majority of staff did not know we were interns (unless introduced), yet everyone made you feel comfortable and welcome.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • It was only a 3 day programme, so it was understandable there was not a lot of time for training and development.

    2/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Our buddies were lon the graduate programme and continually let us ask questions about the programme training and future prospects in the firm. Also, some of the senior partners and directors even gave up time to speak to us and were very open about their experiences with eh company!

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Being in the office in itself showed a lot about the company culture, along with the conversations we had with staff.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It was a fantastic three days of being able to observe the work and see various stages of consulting a client!

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was paid for the three day, and also my travel expenses for the assessment day were reimbursed in a timely manner.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Our buddies made a very conscious effort of connecting us with staff, and actively arranging meetings for us with relevant partners for us to speak to and ask questions. Senior partners and directors even gave us business cards and connected with us on LinkedIn! Really great opportunity.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • We were based in Glasgow, but went across to the Edinburgh office for a day, which was great to see the flexibility in spaces you can work. Also, it was around the time of the Edinburgh Fringe, so after work, a group of us went to see a couple of shows!

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • There was the opportunity to ask this, but to be honest, I think we were all too focused on learning as much about the programme and division as we could considering the short time.

    2/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
