    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The PwC Assurance Summer Internship offered a fantastic insight into how the external audit process functions and what it is like to work for a 'Big 4' company. The company clearly invested a lot into my experience as an intern and as a result I felt valued as an employee.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My teams were friendly, helpful and made me feel welcome very early on. PwC held many social events during the time I was there - including a sports day, away day and Friday drinks - this made it easy and fun to socialise and get to know my collegues. Everyone I met had time for me and made me feel valued.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given a decent level of responsibility. Tasks were passed down by members of teams. Most of the work was simple and easy to get on with, albeit often tedious and repetitive. However, despite this, was a good experience for me and starting place to properly kick off my career.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I received an offer from PwC and plan to work there after finishing my studies and taking a gap year. As a result, I feel relaxed and secure in my future. I am looking forward to returning to PwC, as I know it is the best place for me to begin my career.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The average age within Assurance I believe is 29 and I really appreciated this. Working with a team of people not too far from my own age (20) made it easy to settle in and was actually good fun. The atmosphere was mostly chilled and was nice to work in.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was well organised. Many events were set up while I was there, including: residential induction in Windsor, sports day, away days. I was also told which teams I was working on very early on in the internship and knew where I would be working. It was well done.
