    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I enjoyed it very much, was both very informative with detailed talks about the different divisions. It was also very interactive as we got the chance to network with people from different types of divisions and we had the chance to develop our skills like public speaking and interviewing. The best part would have to be the work shadowing as it was immersive and we really got a true insight into our chosen divisions.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt valued as throughout the programme as there were personalised coaching sessions and plenty of mock interview sessions. We also got feedback whenever we did tasks such as public speaking and drafting our personal stories. Also, during the work shadowing experience, everyone was really supportive and went out of their way to help me and make me feel comfortable.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received a lot of guidance and support, questions were encouraged throughout the programme and even on the days when we weren't in the offices, there were coaching sessions and interactive tasks such as webinars and research tasks. Everyone was very helpful and went out of their way to make sure we were making the most of it.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Did not really assist me in my degree studies but was really useful in terms of skills needed to apply for internships and jobs. I got to really work on and improve my interview skills, communication skills as well as networking skills. I also got to learn more about the different types of jobs within finance available especially wealth management.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Overall, the programme was well structured in terms of fitting in a variety of things such as informational talks, networking sessions and work shadowing sessions. However, I think there should be more days in the offices so that the talks could be a bit more spread out as it may be overwhelming with a lot of information to take in at once. Also, more work shadowing days would be better and perhaps in other divisions if possible.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Really enjoyed the atmosphere in general as the people leading the programme were very enthusiastic and down to earth. They were very supportive but also very insightful. Many of the people that gave the talks were also very helpful but also made us feel very comfortable which challenged my stereotypes when it came to investment banking.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 3/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The programme helped me gain a very good insight into how it would be to work at Deustche Bank full time as we had many opportunities to speak to people who work there and see their working space. A lot was mentioned on their company culture and the type of work that they do. The work shadowing experience really helped me to get a feel as to what to expect in a full time role.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Through this programme, I was really able to get a feel for the company culture first hand by visiting their offices and seeing how everyone interacted with each other. Everyone was really supportive of each other and encouraged learning and team work. Seemed like there was good internal mobility and opportunities for people to develop themselves.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • This opportunity was very valuable in terms of helping me decide my future career path as I got to learn what different divisions in the bank did and what types of roles were available as well as where different skill sets are best suited. Before the programme, I had little knowledge on wealth management and capital markets however, It's something that I would consider going into now,

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were numerous opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of Deustche Bank through their talks given by people who worked in different divisions and through networking lunch. Work shadowing also meant we got to meet more people within our preferred divisions and got to ask them plenty of questions.

  • I would definitely recommend this insight to a friend as it really helped me to figure out what divisions or jobs I'd like to go into when it comes to banking. The programme also helped me to develop my soft skills like networking but also interview and communication skills which can be applied to numerous things.
