    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I throughly enjoyed my placement at Accenture, it was a massive learning curve! If you cope easily with change and are up for working anywhere in the country then it is perfect. The range of work you can be involved in is never ending and its completely your choice what route you go for!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • It depends on the project you are on but from my experience I felt extremely valued and saw how the work I was doing was invaluable to the project. My manager was also excellent, she taught me so much and always wanted the best for me and pushed me to do my best.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • This varies depending on how busy your manager is but mine was excellent and we built a great relationship that we still have today. The support from HR was also great, we had HR advisors that were assigned to us and we could go to them with anything we needed help with!

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • This depends on the project you are on, you will hear this a lot but on my first project I was extremely busy with average hours from 9-7. The work was much more critical and there were many more deadlines. My second project was very different and I wasn't so busy, with normal hours.

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was shocked by the amount of responsibility I was given as soon as I joined Accenture. You are treated as any other analyst in the company, so the expectations are also high. It was great to be responsible for your own deliverables and know that your work is valuable to the project.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills you learn at Accenture are life long skills that I believe are invaluable. The nature of project work means you can be involved in many different types of consulting and so can learn numerous different skills. The skills I learnt will certainly assist me in the workplace as well my final year at university.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • This depends on whether you are on client site or in the Accenture offices. My first project was in Canary wharf, it was great to experience a very corporate environment. My second project I was in Accenture's Fenchurch Street office, which has the best atmosphere! Its a hot desk environment so its easy to meet new people!

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement was very well structured from start to finish. The first week you have a full induction preparing you for life at Accenture. Finding a role can be challenging at times and not so organised. But otherwise everything else was very organised!

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Above 25 days holiday

    Working from home

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • There is a clear promotion ladder at Accenture, with average time periods it takes to reach. When you're on placement your managers fill out a feedback form based on your objectives you set out to achieve and your performance. This is what HR use to decide if you should get a grad offer.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • 4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Very high!! Cost of living and going out in London is extremely high. Rent is at least £700 a month, lunch near the office is at least £5 and a pint is at least £5 too. Meal prepping is great idea to save money to spend on socialising and going out instead!

    1/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • 5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Accenture have many sports clubs you can get involved in! It's also easily to socialise with all the other interns and grads, through lots of socials that are organised by HR. They also give you volunteering days, where you can volunteer for a charity of your choice whenever you like.
