    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • This internship exceeded every single one of my expectations, and become one of the best summers of my life due to a wonderful environment, and an amazing team that made me feel welcome and valued and every point, helping me to build my skills and confidence and develop great skills.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues were one of the best parts of my experience and belonging to their team made me feel valued and important, as my responsibilities were gradually increased as I learn I got to understand more about the workings of the company and they were always willing to help and answer questions. They were truly like an extended family and made me feel happy and excited to come to work every day!

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Throughout my entire internships I was in constant contact with my both my manager and supervisor, both of whom I spoke to daily. Several other employees often checked in on me throughout my internship and always provided any support and guidance when needed. They were patient and kind whilst training me and always willing to answer any questions.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was certainly never bored and got to learn a variety of different daily tasks and assist with different teams and their tasks, helping me to learn more about Enterprise as a company in general and develop a multitude of different skills. Despite this I never felt overwhelmed and had enough time to complete all my tasks.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I feel that through my internship I was given responsibility in accordance to my skills. I started out with low levels of responsibility which helped build my confidence and allowed me to get used to using the programs before I was given more responsibility and really felt like a part of the team.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I believe that not only will the skills I learnt in excel come in extremely handy in my career and future learning but that I also learned several skills that will help me in my life in general. I became more organized and better at managing my time, managing to become faster and more accurate when working.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was always laughter and camaraderie in the office and co-workers were encouraged to talk and connect to each other and support each other when necessary. It truly felt like being with a large and diverse group of friends and I never went a single day without laughing at something!

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The training I received was supported and the transition from starting out as an intern to finishing has been superb. There was a great transition in responsibility and I was taught different operations in a timely matter so I never felt overwhelmed. I think the organization was brilliant and couldn't have been better.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Despite how busy the managers or supervisors were, they invested a lot of time into training me and developing my skills right up until the very end, I was still learning new skills and tasks and continued to grow as an employee. The benefits set up are also incredible and great aids in supporting physical and mental health.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • It is my future goal to come back to work at Enterprise because of my amazing experience during my internship. There are great opportunities for advancement and I believe I could imagine a lifetime career with Enterprise where there are plenty of different opportunities and roles available at all times.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Everyone was lovely and by the end of it I feel that I had formed several lasting friendships with my colleagues, who I will be keeping in touch with outside of work. It is a great and supportive community that encourages strong bonds between employees and truly becoming friends with your colleagues.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The area I worked in is quiet expensive but as I was already living here I wasn't surprised by the costs. Despite the higher costs of some items, the quality and variety in the area is good, as well as offering easy public transport links to various locations such as London.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There is no real Nightlife in the area I worked, except for local pubs and the Student Union which is located in the university for students. As it was summer, the Student Union was closed and so there was not really any nightlife whatsoever, unless you include some small and very local pubs in the area.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were plenty of opportunities to get involved in several charity events, Pride events, Yoga during lunch times and even free physical activities and training provided by Enterprise available for free for employee. Along with these there were constantly events as well as the team gatherings which took place outsie of work.
