  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed gaining new skills and the personal development I experienced. It was really interesting. The staff have been welcoming, friendly and supportive. I've enjoyed living in Cambridge.

  • They have offered me a permanent position here. This has really validated my hard work and skill set which I keen to continue developing.

  • I've been offered a wealth of support, guidance and opportunities from my managers, buddy and other CRUK staff.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It took a few weeks to really get started. But since, I have been very busy and able to get on with my own work.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I've been responsible for my own project including practical lab work, analysis and write-ups. I have also helped other members of the team with their work including countersigning their ELNs and assisting in their cell culture.

  • They secured me a permanent role!

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Really laid back, welcoming and friendly. I got involved with socials and spoke to a number of colleges.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The organisation of the scheme was great. My project could have been slightly better thought out but overall it scores pretty high.

  • Staff members dedicated a lot of time from their busy schedules and commitments ti support me in my work.

  • Dependent on whether a position is open. I was in the right place at the right time and secured a permanent role here.

  • Everyone got on really well!

  • Living cost are expensive in Cambridge.

  • Lots of nice pubs!
