The Role
The internship was a good mix of being taught technical knowledge and at the same time spent time showing cool things around the business (such as durability course, facility tours, environmental rooms etc.) Therefore it was interesting and also taught me a lot of skills.
The people I regularly interacted with were very friendly and you felt a valued member of the course. However, the people that didn't work on the same things i did, barely spoke to me even though we sat near.
When my manager was available he would always make time to explain something or offer advice. It was a perfect balance (at least for me) between helping and allowing me to figure things out for myself.
There was always work available. The project I was given was planned well and my whole internship was focused around it. Also, there were a few small projects here and there given by people so it was never boring.
The two main projects I was given involved me modelling a part and determining whether those projects were worth it. Therefore, my findings were vital for determining what happens to the project.
The skills learned are going to be very important in areas with CAE modelling. Even though, many companies use different programmes, they basically work very similarly.
The Company
It was a typical office building. People were walking about sorting their work out.
The project set-up for me highlighted everything i needed to do. And I had the opportunity to take it a step further if I wanted to!
Quite a good amount. In the first week we were given a training course on the software we were going to use. Plus, people were always available to help out.

If you do a good job during the internship it is much easier to get into the organisation. Plus there are many places for graduate applications
The Culture
There were both a grad and undergrad social scene meaning that there were many opportunities to socialise. Events were very frequent.
Cost of socializing was quite cheap and from what i've hear the accommodation in this area isnt as expensive. On a three month placement, people typically stayed in student halls for the summer which was discounted by the company.
I didnt really go out during the placement, but there were many pubs, restaurants and clubs in the area.
The graduates organised a bunch of tours to other facilities of the company and plenty of events for after work.
