    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The people make PwC - everyone was really nice and approachable. Unfortunately I had some issues with access to PwC online systems and this was not sorted out until nearer the end of my placement. This was pretty frustrating, so definitely had a negative impact on my overall experience.

    3/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was given responsibility from day 1 and made to feel part of the team. As interns we were included in socials and office events. It was really nice to have such a great group of other interns too - it made the experience much more enjoyable!

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Within individual engagement teams I received a lot of support and advice in relation to client work. However, I had trouble contacting resourcing to sort out some booking issues and found that there was not much support to have these issues resolved. I was confused about exactly how to go about fixing this, so found it somewhat stressful.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • On an average day I was fairly busy, but it was usually not overwhelming and there was always a lot of support from the other interns where needed.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I felt that we were given a fair amount of responsibility from day 1, as we were given similar tasks to those which new graduates would be given on a day to day basis. The work was sometimes a bit challenging, but there were usually people available to provide support and advice.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think that the skills and attitudes I developed will be really beneficial to my future studies.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was a pleasant, relatively relaxed atmosphere that was enjoyable to work in.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Whilst I felt that the first week was really organised and structured, there was a lot of time where I was not sure who to contact about what I was supposed to be doing.

    2/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm really does it's best to invest in interns, and provides lots of useful training and chances to meet other members of the firm and build supports for yourself within the firm.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I think PwC is a great firm to work for, however I feel that it is not quite the right route for me at this time. It is definitely a firm that I would consider returning to later on.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • My fellow interns were really nice and we organised several social events. It was great to have such a nice, supportive group working alongside you. The other employees were also really friendly, and made sure to include us in social events.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I was lucky that I had friends and family in Edinburgh, so was able to live here relatively cheaply. That being said, the Festival was on throughout August, so it was quite expensive to socialise!

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Edinburgh nightlife is pretty fun!

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • We managed to join in with a weekly netball game - it was lots of fun and a great chance to meet people outside your departments.

    5/5
