    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • From the moment I arrived I was welcome to the team with open arms and given clear goals, support and feedback. This internship has allowed me to both learn invaluable new skills as well as deliver a product that I am really proud of. By far the best part of it was how welcoming and supportive everybody was.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • All my colleages, from other software enginners to product/technical managers had a deep sense of responsability and drive towards the projects we were working on. But beyond that they were extremely friendly and supportive, always tacking the time to look outside the box and help each other out, and I deeply respect them for it.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • from the start management helped in clarifying the product requirements of what I had to deliver and where supportive of the suggestions and ammedments I suggested. They were also present when I was presenting my product and supportive in its delivery. In addition they gave me continuous feedback troughout the summer.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Days ranged from busy to very busy, but I never felt overwhelmed by the amount of work we had to do, everyone is understanding of the work load put on engineers and allow us the time to deliver our changes to a good standard. I also had an adequate amount of time to look at other people's work and search outside the box.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was tasked with delivering an event auding tool for business events ocurring in internal applications, I was convinced from the start that what i was building was meaningfull to the business as a whole and would prove very usefull to many users accross EPS. allowing me to have ownership of this was a treasured responsability.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Cloud computing or even web development is not taught in my degree, so I was really surprised by how deep some of the applications of what i was taught this summer go to. Im convinced it will give me a whole new toolset to solve various problems as well as think outside the box

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • nobody in the office minded that i was walking arround without shoes or even with feets on the table. our manager would regularly bring us ice cream and on a bi-weekly basis there would some sort of outdoor team lunch/event, the atmosphere was always friendly and fun, we never get bored !

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I have no complaints in how to internship was set up, all administrative tasks from onboarding to payroll occured without hastle and allowed me to primarly focus on my work. I am very impressed with the work the early talents team have put into organising this internship and all the activities around it.
