The Role
The placement allows for a variety of skilled t be learnt and developed which are not only important in the job role but are also important for fututre careers. I thoroughly enjoy the challenges the role presents but also the rewards and personal satisfaction gained throughout the placement. Well worth the year out of university.
From the off it was made clear how important my role to the team was and I was made to feel included immediately which is important. Everyone staff member has made me feel welcome and has treated me with value. Everyone is friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere in the office is positive.
Management were particularly good with regards to support and guiding me through the process. Regular catch-ups and feedback was common which allowed me to develop skills further and therefore improve in the job role. Someone was always around to answer questions and help with guidance which made it really easy to improve.
On a daily basis work load did differ slightly but majority of the time there was plenty of wor avalible to keep busy and to not drift or get bored. The work load is only ever as much as the staff memeber can handle which is great as to not overwhelm or get too stressed.
There is a fair bit of responsibility with aiding client requests, meeting clients of visits, helping and developing briefs and everyday tasks which are necessary in the industry. Similarly to workload, resposibility will only be given if the requested so no placement will ever feel too stressed. Equally responsibility can be given if wanted.
The skills I developed during my placement year will really help me in the futute with university studies. Balancing tasks, time management and stress management are all important skills which I will take forward into my final year of university. Being promot as well as managing resposibilites are also important skills.
The Company
The office is atmosphere is positive and all staff are welcoming. Hot desks allow for changing of seating which means youll always sit next to soemone different each day which can be positive for meeting new people. Agile spaces and booths for quiet, isolated work are also a bonus which can aloow staff to focus in peace if they need to.
I think that the programme set up was well organised. The assessment day was organised and prompt. Pre starting working was well informed with regualr emails to get us ready to start at Kantar and the first two weeks of learning/ working was well structured and clearl as to what we will be doing.
In terms of perosnal training and development, there are regualr catch ups with management to ensure youre always improving and on task. Goals and objectives are set also which are clear and allow for direction throughout the year. There is a positive focus on imporvement and developemnt within the year.

Very appealing. An exam at the end of the placement year along with an interview can allow students to be offered a job for after fianl of uni. This can really take the weight off the shoulders as you no longer need to worry about getting a job after uni.
The Culture
There is also a big focu on social aspects of woring at Kantar. Regular socials for team building and socilaising are common and can really help with bedding into the team. These social can be team buidling activites or food & drink related. They tend to have 4 socials a year amongst other improtu occasions.
London is expensive for food, drink and socialising and this is a downside of the job. However, I think that will be the case for any major cities. The living costs are extortionate which again is a big downside to London. Travel costs are relatively low and it easy to get too and from Hanger Lane.
In terms of nightlife in Hnager Lane is barron as there is nothing other than a pub next door. However, just 15 minutes on the tube can get you to Nottinghill and closer to the ciuty of London which have plenty of great places to eat, drinka dn go out in.
There are plenty of oppotunites to get involved in activites outside of work. Each staff member gets two volunteer days which can be used to volunteer in any sense they wish, either with work or at home. There is also plenty of chairty raisers which include acitivies outside the office.
