    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was a great experience for me and I enjoyed it too much. Working environment was so dynamic and the program was prepared well. I met with new people and gained a precious experience here. There are so many people from different backgrounds and this makes the environment diverse.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very valued by my colleagues. My manager defined my tasks very clearly every time. He was very reachable during my internship. Other than that everyone in the desk was very helpful. It was very easy to set up meetings even with very senior people and they were also very helpful

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager defined my tasks very clearly every time. He was very reachable during my internship and I asked him too many questions. He answered my questions well and explained me everything. He aimed to teach me the overall structure. His reviews were also very constructive and helped me to improve myself.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It was dependent of the day. But in general I was very busy. Because beside of writing the code for my project, I was also responsible for its testing and figuring out how to roll out it as a product. Since it was a very sensitive product, it was very important to roll it out correctly.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was responsible for each aspect of my project including design, testing, integration and adding new parts. So I kind of had a big responsibility and it helped me to improve myself better in this area and required me to spend a some time on each part before to understand the tasks.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The tasks I did here required me to use my both analytical and coding skills and developed me in these areas. I also learned more about software design principles and how to integrate a small part to a very big scaled project. During the testing process it helped me to develop my debugging skills

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone seems very busy but happy. The people in the team are very connected to each other. When someone have a question, he/she asks it to the team before and everyone tries to help. The atmosphere is very diverse, you can hear so many different languages ppoken once you listen the environment

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was very well organised. Before other companies , which I applied for, send their assessment tests this company announced the results. From visa application to arranging the flights for international interns, the company worked in a very professional way and it made everything easier during the internship process .

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Firstly, it provided an unlimited Udemy account for each intern before the internship. And also recommended us different courses based on our desk allocation. It was very impressive from my point of view. There were other training sessions during the internship and my manager really invested his time on me to train me better

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • It is very appealing for me and most of the interns that I have talked to. Because the working environment is so good and it allows us to develop ourselves more. Solving the problems here is very enjoyable and satisfying. The company makes everyone feel valuable. Also the salaries are good

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes it was . Most of my friends would like to work or to be an intern here . The reputation of the firm is very good and it is well known among the students and colleagues . Social scene is very diverse here. And allows people from different backgrounds to meet.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Cost of living is very high in London. Renting a flat or a studio is very expensive in Zone 1. Foods and drinks are very expensive as well. And the firm does not provide a free lunch and we need to pay for it. Traveling costs are also very expensive.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Since I am not very interested in Nightlife , I don't have an exact opinion. But it seems like there are many opportunities to involve in Nightlife especially in Central London. But I would not count option as a criteria when deciding on my job to work in the future

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes there were . London is a very social city . There are always some concerts , festivals , musicals and other kind of activities to attend . Especially in summer time the city is very beautiful and appealing . Also the city has too many neighbor cities to visit easily
