Summer intern Review

I really enjoyed the company and the scheme as it was well planned by the HR team.I was able to learn a lot by speaking to different staff of varying seniority with easy. Generally there was a very friendly atmosphere with the office. The experience can't be replaced in my opinion

I felt very valued by my colleagues and was able to build a really good rapport with them. I was able to relate with them on a professional and informal level and generally was made to feel like an integral part of the team even though I was there for less than four months

I had a few analysts in my team who advised me and helped me out with any questions I had throughout my internship. I felt this was very helpful and I was lucky as I could relate with them on a personal level as we were of a similar age and they had been there for one or two years. Had weekly check ins with my manager as well to discuss what I had done

Due to the nature of my work and how my team was set up, I was quite busy during the mornings. Towards the end of the day after finishing most of my work I did have quite a bit of free time, but used this to complete other self development tasks

I was given a lot of responsibility especially with the emails I had to send out. They were distributed worldwide to senior stakeholders and were of high importance. I was advising and doing a lot of activities I never knew an intern would be allowed to undertake which was quite exciting.

I have been able to see firsthand how the corporate world works and have really developed my communication and team working skills. I had a lot of excel and technical training which definitely will not go to waste as well. Most importantly I believe my determination and resilience has improved along with being more confident in my abilities.

Quite relaxed but this depended on what type of floor you were on. Obviously there are times when everyone was very focused on their work, but generally it is easy to walk up to others for a quick chat or if you need help with a process.Overall it was not too tense and you felt like you belonged.

Very well set up with loads of internship events throughout the ten weeks that I was there. We had one day during the internship where we had to give back to neighbouring communities by volunteering and doing gardening which was fun. Loads of networking socials with the other interns and important staff members.

Very good, a top investment bank bank, if not the best in the world right now. They really promote mobility and if you have needs, it is quite easy to bring up with your manager and together you can work to getting the best result. I would return if given back the offer

London is very expensive but we were given a relocation bonus to help with the costs. There are a lot of things to do and places to go in London especially with other students. Transportation is probably the biggest expense apart from living costs but there are lots of university accommodations that may offer rooms.

Buzzing as we were in London, you could go for drinks after work or if drinks aren't your thing you could definitely find other activities to do.I didn't really go out too much as I had a lot of work most days and didn't live very close to the office.
