    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • A well structured and well planned internship with appropriate and challenging projects assigned to interns. I enjoyed the challenges that came with the internship as well as the projects that I was working on. The colleagues I came into contact with were all brilliant and supportive which created a great working atmosphere.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The level of support afforded to me was beyond what I expected. I was set up with many contacts both within my department as well as throughout the business and within he HR team that were regularly in contact throughout the 10 weeks providing an amazing level of support. The time and effort put into making us feel supported really made me feel valued and appreciated.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The project work I was doing meant I was able to plan my own time and have a great workload at all times. There were no times where I felt overwhelmed by the amount of work I had on and on the other side, there weren’t any time I felt I had nothing to do.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was making valuable contributions throughout the internship, working alongside and on the same projects as full time colleagues and completing the same work as other more experienced employees. The work I completed was utilised and implemented across areas of the company. I feel I was given a great amount of responsibility and there was always support available for any doubts or questions I had.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Much of what I have learnt in my business management degree was relevant to the business and there are many areas in which I developed which I could relate back to this learning. I have no doubt there will be areas that will be very useful in my final year of study.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • A professional environment which allowed for a great balance of work and a friendly atmosphere. Contrary to what I was lead to believe the working hours were very pleasant and I was actively discouraged from staying too late in the office or doing too many long hours. The office was a great place to work.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There were many events organised both within working time and outside to get all interns involved in many aspects of the company. The internship was well structured with plenty of catchups and support available at all times. I very much enjoyed the structured nature of the internship as I was aware of what was coming up and where I was expected to be at all times.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There were many opportunities for development along the internship. Many days of the internship were set aside for us to receive training as well as plenty of ad hoc opportunities we were all encouraged to participate in. Even for a short amount of time the company was happy to heavily invest in us.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would be very interested in future employment opportunities with the company. There are many stricter graduate programs available which we were made aware of within the internship. There was plenty of opportunities to find out more about these and meet with people currently on these schemes as well as find out about other opportunities available.
