The Role
In my opinion, the way the internship was structured made it very varied and interesting. I was able to have a large exposure to the different roles within the division which made the process an invaluable experience. There was a lot of networking involved which encouraged you to meet people in roles which you had perhaps not considered.
Everyone I met was very supportive, friendly and willing to spend time to get to know you. Many colleagues had been through the internship themselves and so were keen to help you through the process. Everyone spent a lot of time with me explaining their roles, different concepts and were always open to answering any questions that I had,
I had weekly catch ups with my manager to talk about my progress and how I was feeling about the internship. They would also offer advice on what to improve on or how to approach certain scenarios. We were always able to contact them throughout the week if we needed.
The work flow varied week to week depending what team you were working with. There was always something to do with the aim that the project would give you a reason to chat to everyone on the team. However, this could be difficult at times if the team were very busy!
I found the internship really helped me to develop my networking skills and give me confidence to approach people I had never met for help. The training and material that I learn't will definitely help me throughout the rest of my studies and into future work. I think the internship gives you a really good platform of knowledge.
The Company
The atmosphere was really great. Everyone was really friendly and approachable which made it a really enjoyable place to be in. It was also very exciting and insightful to be in the environment when big headlines hit the news and to see how they would impact the different teams work flow.
The internship structure what great and allowed you to gain exposure to a large amount of teams very quickly. I liked that you were able to choose which teams you wanted to sit with for each week as it meant the time was tailored to your preferences and what you wanted to learn more about.
I really feel that members of the firm invested so much time in my progress and journey through the internship. They really helped me to navigate my way through the programme, gain confidence and introduce me to more people and teams that I may not have considered before. This was really helpful!

The Culture
All the other interns were really friendly and everyone was willing to help eachother out. We would often arrange to do things on a Friday evening and also meet up for coffees or lunch during the week. There were also events set up through the internship, especially at the beginning, which gave you the opportunity to get to know all the other interns.
There was often lots of events set up by the different teams in order for you to get to know them better. This was good as it gave you the option to go out if you wanted to. The location of the office is great in terms of socializing .
