The Role
Looking back the level of growth and knowledge I gained made the experience enjoyable and worth it. It was a stretch at the beginning, but the more I got into it the easier it became
Not every rotation was the same. I felt more valued in some rotations than in others; in some cases I was valued more as a human being while in others, I was valued more as a professional
My managers were absolutely amazing, supportive and willing to have catch-ups and hands on teaching to help my growth. There was also constant feedbacks, lunches, etc
There was always something to work on and something to learn
We were given projects, but were also encouraged to take initiative and find ways to add value to the team
The value I've added through this internship is absolutely priceless
The Company
Much more relaxed than I expected a bulge bracket firm to be
It was very well organized. Both from an HR perspective and the various desks
There were learning and wellbeing series set up every week outside of the actual work on the desk
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare/Dental
I definitely hope to come back full time next year
The Culture
We were able to bond with each other and have made friends for life
Comparatively quite expensive seeing as it was set in a financial center
There were always places to meet up after work to unwind
The bank was big on having a work life balance and the culture pushed interns to actually find extra curricular activities they could also talk about
