  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The work was varied and interesting and the teams were very supportive.

  • I mostly felt like I was making a useful contribution to the team and that my work was appreciated.

  • I felt well supported by my team and human resources contact.

  • There was very little downtime on a daily basis and I was working at an intense level for at least 12 hours a day.

  • My project work added value to the team but I was not working on time-critical problems.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I developed very useful software development skills that I will use in my ongoing studies.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • People were generally warm and supportive. It was an intense working environment but my team were jovial and friendly.

  • HR did an excellent job of running the program and I cannot fault the organisation.

  • Team members were very willing to provide the support and assistance that I required to complete the tasks set of me.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Little visibility is given on whether I will receive a full time offer. It seems that performance is not as important a driver as headcount.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Interns and placement students were encouraged to socialise with each other and plenty of events were organised to facilitate this.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is a very expensive city to go out in!

  • Halfway between the City and Mayfair is a bit of a dead zone.

  • The long hours of the job made arranging evening activities very challenging.
