The Role
Great overall experience, gave a great insight into the job, tasks etc.
Very valued, managers and other colleagues often asked for inputs and were always willing to help out.
To a very large extent. My manager was always available to help and happily did so.
Busy, but still able to maintain somewhat a consistent sleeping schedule with food in the office every day and with weekend work in some weekends. However, this was cleared before starting, so not an issue.
Was allowed to drive projects myself and with help whenever needed from my manager - indeed also impactful and relevant work.
A lot of company specific (financials) training which is always helpful, but I could imagine to a history, medicine etc. student who now realizes that finance isn't a career path to pursue, it is not that relevant - still, to me, as a business undergrad, it is incredibly useful.
The Company
Great team atmosphere, everyone willing to help if needed.
Very well organized - clear schedule throughout the whole internship.
To a large extent, I don't believe they generated any profit on hiring me for 10 weeks (in terms of value I brought to the firm compared to money they invested in me)
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
International Travel
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
Very appealing, would definitely like to return once I finish my studies.
The Culture
Yes, often went for drinks in the weekend or did something social together.
Definitely doable with the salary you receive during your 10-week internship (even with the possibility to save up)
Central London has a great nightlife which is not far away from where I work/live
Not sure, didn't actively pursue this, but I'd imagine that there are endless opportunities in London.
