    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I felt this internship was very interesting as well as challenging. I was able to learn about many different business areas, and gained key skills that I didn't know before. The people are very helpful and you can always seek help. Therefore, I very much enjoyed the internship here at Willis Towers Watson.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very valued by my colleagues. They are very helpful, so you can see help from them. In addition, they support you while doing your work. They also congratulate you with work produced, and provide clearly the next steps of the work. Therefore, I felt very valued by the colleagues.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Very much so. At Willis Towers Watson, the support and guidance you receive by not only the management, but also the colleagues, is great. They always have the time to help you, no matter how much work they have on. There is also a great community, where even the more senior members interact with the junior members of the team.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was relatively busy on a daily basis. I feel it all depends on how you manage your time. If time management is poor, it can result in more work piling up. Therefore, it is best to manage your workload appropriately. If you feel free, there are always opportunities to pick up more work.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As an intern, you are given a fair bit of responsibility, however there is nothing to worry about. The reason being is that there is always someone there to help you and guide you through the work. If you feel stuck and unable to progress, you are always allowed to ask questions.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The training I received was great. The most important skill set I learnt whilst here, was actually while working. There are a wide variety of projects, so you are able to improve your skills in many business areas, as well as being able to improve technical and personal skills. .

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Quite Organised. You receive a rough outline of the internship schedule during the first week. The Outlook Calendar is also very organised for the internship. There is the correct amount of training as well as regular times where you get feedback regarding the work carried out. It is very organised.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

  • Willis Towers Watson is very appealing. The reason being they always look to help you, and don't care if you make mistakes, as long as you learn from them. They provide interesting and exciting work. Therefore, the future employment prospects with Willis Towers Watson are, indeed, very appealing. Thank you.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Very good

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Lived from home, so cannot say. However, going out is very expensive in London. Make sure to budget well and keep track of how much you spend on a daily basis. Drinks and Food are very expensive. Canteen is quite good- recommend buying some Indian Food from there. Thank you.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • London is very good for nightlife, however haven't been much. Very expensive so again, choose when to go out wisely. There are a lot of activities around London, so a lot to get involved in. Thank you. Enjoy your time at the internship, but work very hard as well. It is important.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Definitely. However, many activities are outside of working hours, and they still expect you to do the work needed for the next day. Make sure to plan your time wisely. It is very important to do so. I would try and get involved in as many activities as you can.
