    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed it and it was difficult and challenging

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • It depends on which desk I was but the last desk with credit sales felt nicer than the 2 others !!

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I didn't really have a good manager/intern relationship because knowing they are really busy, it made sense.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was pretty busy and finding the balance between networking and working on your desk is difficult even more if you don't have any recommendations from managers but you just have to find the good balance yourself. It is even more rewarding to be able to do both as you learn twice as much.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As I am an intern and only a 2nd year bachelor, it was more about learning and understanding what they do instead of actually doing it. We all have projects to work on that your manager gives at some point during the rotations and it is the main thing you have to do.

    2/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I am pretty sure that what I have learned is going to help me for my whole life. I learned more in 10 weeks then in my whole 2 years at university (in the finance side of course). You get the chance to see each desk (if you have time to network) and the more you do, the more you learn.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone is hard working and I loved that. They are passionate about their jobs and all really good at it also which makes the working environment a really nice place to work. They help each other and except when they are really busy, they are always open to discuss few minutes.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I loved all the speakers series and all the events organised for us ton meet senior employees and others interesting people. I tried to go to as many events as they organised because it is always a plus and you always get out of the event with more knowledge as well as more questions. Few things about the rotations should be more organised but knowing it was the first internship in Paris makes more sense.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They gave me so much that I don't know how to return the favour. Even if my managers or buddy's we not there to help me that much etc... the whole internship taught me so much that I would do it again with no regrets. Maybe a better insight in the actual job would be interesting but it takes a long time before being able to try to trade or sales so it makes sense that in 10 weeks I can't see everything.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I am putting a 5 as I am more likely to not get a job then the opposite even if I tried my best to get it. I guess I didn't match with any team I was in and even if networking is important, I can't spend as much time with my desk and with another desk. I didn't get to meet a manager for a good amount of time that would have helped me to know more about a future position but we never know and we will see.

    2/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Even if we all know that there is competition between all of us, being the youngest here and knowing that it is my first internship made it easier for me as I know I don't have the same experience as them and therefore, I could be more relax and interact with them. We all helped each other and it was nice to meet some interns that I see in a daily basis at the bank now.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I stayed at my parent's house so I didn't pay rent and the canteen is a but expensive but still cheaper than the shops outside. I didn't spend much on food as I just needed diner and the week end but we all know that Paris is an expensive city.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I didn't go out as I finished everyday quite late and after a 11-12hrs ay at work, I don't have much energy to go out. It is a good place to live because I have lived here before and it is nice to be able to go to a bar next to the office after work as there are many.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I played football but that's it.

    3/5
