    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was good as I was able to get an insight into how the bank operates and what the departments in the head office will do compared to a branch. their were times when I had nothing much to do as the department does have periods where it can be quite quiet.

  • Both management and supervisors were really helpful in answering question I weren't sure off and allowing me to get involved as much as I can. They always ask me if I wanted more work or less which was always helpful as I wanted to learn as much as I can.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given quite some responsibility as I was responsible for the ''expenses'' and the ''unmatched items report'' which was nice and I also got involved in a few different projects which was also very useful as that also helped me get a wider view of the bank so that was great.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • As I am currently studying a degree which resolves around banking this internship has been great in assisting me to improve, get better, develop and improve the skills I have which I can relate to my degree or the career path I choses to get into in the near future.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was decent as everyone was chatty which was nice but they were also work driven which meant we could have a laugh one minute and the next minute it is straight cracking on with work which was good. We also had FIKA which was nice as it is a little break to spend some time with your colleagues.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It wasn't organised really well as they had kind of a plan which each of the departments and branches were given who had interns over that period which then they would take on the plan and decide what they wanted to do specifically. this was good however it could lead to some problems where interns wouldn't have much to do.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Yeah I believe it was great in my opinion as they gave us ''MyDevelopment'' task which allowed me to learn more areas in the bank ad what regulators regulate the bank and how the bank must respond to those regulators and the steps they have taken. My colleagues were always here to support me in the different task I was doing.
