The Role
It was great summer Internship. I enjoyed my time at RBS, and it helped me develop myself, and broaden my career perspectives.
After a slow start, a got to be involved in a great project which given me enough work to keep me occupied and was interesting as well. Enjoyed working on it.
Everyone was supportive, whatever question or problem I had. Everyone was flexible enough to be there when I needed it, but do not bother unnecessarily.
I had wok to do, but I wasn't overloaded, it was a great balance and I could set my own dairy and pace of work, which helped a lot for me.
I've got to be involved in the first steps of a great data analytical project, which would probably run for quite a while. I was the first one to work with the data. and I got to be involved in the first playback of our findings as well.
The things I learned at RBS probably won't be needed to finish my degree, but it will certainly be useful after that in my career.
The Company
It was a great atmosphere, I had a great time, it was just the right amount of fun joking around to make it a nice place to be.
There was great flexibility around what we would get involved in, depending on our team and line manager. I had a rather slow start of my Internship, I found it hard to get involved with whatever my team was doing, simply because of the nature of their work, but after the first few weeks we managed to find the best project for me, which worked out great.
RBS provides the opportunity to develop yourself, you just have to grab it. The atmosphere and the culture is 100% supportive, but it depends on you how much you make out of it. It is gonna as rewarding as the effort you put into it.

It looks like a great place to work. The grad scheme seems to be an ideal start of ones career.
The Culture
The interns in Edinburgh had quite a community, they spent a lot of time together on social event, lunch time, or general hanging out.
Edinburgh is a lovely city, cost-income ration is rather good as well.
I don't know much about the Nightlife, but there are quite a lot of pubs and clubs to go to.
It really depends on you, your time and commitment. The opportunities are there, it is a big city, everything is there that you can wish for.
