    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I had such a good year at VWFS - it was pretty much perfect for a placement year!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • At VWFS you aren't treated as an 'Undergraduate' - you don't have this label. You are treated like everyone else.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager was very supportive. My team were great fun and made me feel so welcome.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Like many roles, it had its peaks and troughs of busyness. It was always full on during my year up until the last few weeks before I left it went a bit quieter. I liked being busy but it did mean I couldn't explore other areas of the business as much as I hoped.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given just as much responsibility as other members of my team which I really appreciated.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I would really recommend doing a placement at VWFS. It has taught me so much about my myself and the working world!

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was a very good vibe. Such a bright and modern office - made it so much nicer coming into work!

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Within my role it was well set up - I was clear on my job role and what was required of me. However the organisational of the placement scheme as a whole could have been improved with better organisation.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Very highly! They paid for us to go on many courses such as Excel and Presentation improvement.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Company Car

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    Above 25 days holiday

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would love to work for VWFS in the future. Unfortunately they didn't make it clear to us about what was happening for the Graduate Scheme (this was something new to the company) therefore I feel like they have let go of a lot of talented people. However we shall we once I have finished Uni what the situation is like.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The social was great. There was 27 of us therefore there was always someone around at the weekends. We went out quite a lot on Fridays after work. I made some amazing friends.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It isn't the cheapest area to go out in. You always had to look for deals and make sure you had drinks before you went out!

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife isn't great in Milton Keynes however if you are with the right people you still can have a really fun night. It is close to London so we went out in London a few times.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Loads of opportunity to volunteer for charity events.

    4/5
