The Role
I greatly enjoyed my time working here over the Summer. I found the work interesting and challenging. There was enough work to feel busy but I felt swamped. I have met so many amazing people throughout a variety of service areas. There was also lots of social events to get involved with.
Over the course of my internship I felt very valued by my colleagues. I was given a lot of different tasks to complete. The team were very supportive and made effort to coach me through the work. After completing my work my team members were happy to review it with me and offer advice.
I was given a huge amount of guidance and support by all the staff that I came across. Everyone was more than happy to answer any questions that I had about the tasks I was doing, the job I was on or the company as a whole. They were all very helpful.
I was given a good amount of responsibility over my internship. This was mainly through the team handing over a number of tasks to me that I was then responsible for completing. Though I was responsible for this work the team were still very happy to coach me through it when needed.
I think I have learned a lot over the course of my internship. Not only have I developed a number of technical skills but my knowledge of audit as a whole has greatly improved. I feel that these skills and knowledge will be a great help in my studies and beyond.
The Company
The atmosphere was brilliant on the whole. Everyone was very friendly and there were a number of social events to get involved in. The atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly. The office has a very modern style and with the hot desk system it helps create a nice relaxed atmosphere.
The internship as a whole was very well organised. The induction was very helpful as we learned a lot about the work we would be doing and met some of the other interns. Additionally we received weekly emails and had buddies, who were available to answer any questions we had.
Company Parties/Events
The Culture
There was a great social scene. There were a large number of other interns in my office. The associates led a number of social events which were great fun. There was a also a number of company organised events that we attended. Overall there were lots of opportunities to get involved socially.
I was based in London so generally it was quite expensive. There are obviously a large amount of unavoidable costs such as living, food and transport. Socially we made an effort to avoid the more expensive areas in order to make the most of our time and there were a number of reasonable places we could go.
London has a great night life set up. There a huge number of pubs and beer gardens open every day and there a good culture of socialising after work in the city. There are lots of clubs and a huge comedy and theatre scene that is very easy to get involved with.
