    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my Internship, gaining a vast array of experience through a real variety of work throughout my 6 weeks. The scheme is very well run with three training days before entering the office environments, helping all Interns nerves to be put at ease before starting direct project work.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt extremely valued by my colleagues who got me involved with social events straight away, ensuring that I integrated well with the team. They all provided with me with thorough feedback at the end of my Internship, demonstrating how much I've helped the team and giving me helpful advice for the future.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given a high degree of support and guidance from my supervisors, ensuring that I had a manageable workload throughout. All members of the team were great at given me advice and tips about how to carry out my work and ensured I settled into life well at my internship.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I had a suitable workload on a daily basis, with the level of how proactive I was in looking for work determining how many projects I got involved with. I gained work from a variety of sources as I began to complete work for more people, becoming trusted in the workplace.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given an increasing level of responsibility as the internship went on. This included attending client phone calls and meetings and even running a training session with a colleague in my final week of the Internship. As you gain trust from those around you, the levels of responsibility increase rapidly.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I believe that my technical skills have advanced highly throughout this place, for example my Excel skills, which can be carried directly across to aid my further studies. I've also developed my interpersonal skills, engaging with both internal team members and clients through meetings, phone calls and my daily work.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very friendly, with very approachable staff. The open place office provides an enjoyable working environment and allows for a social workplace. All employees were very friendly and helped to keep it a fun working environment. This helped to provide a good balance between work and social interaction within the office.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • A very well organised placement with a 3-day induction before working in the office. This allowed an introduction to the Line of Service that I'd be working in and also a chance to network with the employees running these sessions. This also allowed the Interns to meet each other in a social scenario!

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were lots of opportunities to get involved in social activities outside of work, within my team and through wider social networks I made during my Internship.
