    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my internship with PWC and would recommend it to anyone interested. I became more confident speaking with clients as my time progressed and got an insight in to a career in assurance. I was able to develop my excel skills and also begin to understand the software used at PWC to audit.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Every team I worked on were very supportive and always thanked me for the work I had completed that day.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given a buddy to ask any questions too throughout my internship. This was very helpful as it helped me settle in fast and gave me the opportunity to ask questions regarding expenses, a typical work day etc. I was also assigned a career coach who was extremely helpful with catching up with myself weekly and helping me to consider future career options with PWC

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • This depended on the job I was on for that week. For example one week there were upcoming deadlines meaning the work was more demanding and essential to complete. On a different job I found the pace slower and more of a relaxed atmosphere. Overall it was good to see the various types of client work and pace of the work environment.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a fair amount of responsibility during my time at PWC. I sat with clients and ran through various tasks such as payroll. Although at first it was daunting, it helped me to get the best out of my internship.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My skills have developed greatly since joining. In particular having not needed to use excel much in the past I found my skills in terms of using this programme significantly improved from the beginning to end. My communication skills both over the phone and face to face have massively improved and I feel more confident speaking to clients now, than how I did at the start.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I spent time in both the Cardiff and Bristol office. Both offices had a good feel but as a professional environment also rather quiet. All the staff were very welcoming at both offices.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The Internship was well organised and we were given information about the residential training well in advance. However, if I was to make a suggestion it would be that as an intern you were introduced to the placement students or first years on the grad scheme just to get to know more people other than those on your job.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company were really helpful with considering future options with the firm after graduating.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The future employment prospects are very appealing however, it's a shame that transfer to London offices is not a simple process

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a good atmosphere and social scene between colleagues. However, to make a suggestion it would be nice if there had been more organised social events set up by the company.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Living at home this was not applicable.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Good

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Netball which I attended however, I would suggest more social events (drinks after work) to be organised

    3/5
