    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed this internship, there was a lot of opportunity to gain experience in various roles in the firm. We spent time with different teams within the firm and got to gain an idea of the different responsibilities. This meant that the work was varied and a lot more interesting.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Over the internship you learn a lot of skills and abilities. At the start of the internship it can be difficult to be a lot of use as you have to learn everything, but by the end you can help out the team a lot and feel like a valuable member of the team.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The support from start to finish is great, the firm has a great attitude towards learning and coaching. Everyone in the firm from associates to partners are always there to help and support you in your work. This has been one of the best things about working at PwC this summer.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The days were often varied in terms of work, some days were very busy and others not so much. This can often come with the type of work as there can be a lot of waiting for clients to respond to emails or requests. Generally there was a good balance.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As the internship went on and we learned more, we were given more responsibilities. By the end I was given a large amount of work to be completed for clients, this was often a similar level to the work given to first year associates on the job so there was a lot of responsibility.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Some of the skills developed will be valuable in many areas of life, mainly the skills developed whilst working in the teams and communicating with clients. The skills developed for the job can be very specific to the role and would be difficult to apply to any other areas in real life.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the office is great. The offices are nice and modern which gives it a nice feel and everyone is friendly. As the company has a 'dress for your day' policy everyone there is much more relaxed than you may expect and it has a less stressful feel.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Most of the internship is very well organised, the start of the placement is on a residential which is good fun and organised well. The actual work is organised by the resourcing team who do a good job at giving you varied clients and making sure you get the most out of the internship.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company invests in training you a great deal. The residential at the start is three days of training in which you learn about the firm and the roles you will be performing. The firm puts an emphasis on learning on the job, so throughout the internship you get coached on the work you are being asked to complete.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • There are great prospects when working with PwC, you get great varied work which gives you a lot of experience in different sectors. Once you complete your ACA you are also able to switch roles within the firm or there are plenty of opportunities out of the firm. So there are many benefits from working there.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Everyone on the internship got on well. We had a good group of people who got along well so we ended up meeting out of work and working together during the days. It was good to get along with them as we all talked about how we were getting on.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • 4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • 3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There are plenty of activities outside of work that you can get involved in. There are socials often and plenty of sports teams that you can get involved in. There is a good social life at the firm so you should not be left with nothing to do at any time.
