The Role
I really enjoyed working with certain clients/colleagues that continually helped me out when undertaking tricky work. It was particularly good when I had a continuous workflow. However, there were times when little work was set and so I found myself not having much to do and struggling with how to fill the time.
Every senior member of the team that I worked alongside was always very appreciative of the work that I did. Although generally the tasks that I did were some of the more straightforward ones, they still needed doing and other members of the team were happy that I was able to help.
The support and guidance provided by management/senior associates/associates on all the jobs was amazing. I never once felt uncomfortable about asking questions, or when I was asking a question felt like a member of the team was not happy to help. This was arguably the best thing about my placement with PwC.
This varied significantly. Occasionally I would find myself busy all day, which have been the best days on this internship. However, there have been multiple occasions where I haven't had enough work to be getting on with and I've not know what to do other than ask for more work, which I have done. Having said that, I do appreciate that the summer isn't the busiest of times and there are only certain tasks we can carry out.
I felt the level of responsibility was great. I was always given tasks that were challenging and I was always encouraged to speak to clients when required. This gave me a good sense of responsibility and I never felt like I was being given really easy tasks, nor did I feel I was being 'hidden' from clients.
The training and skills that I have built up over the course of the internship will definitely help out provided I come and work back at PwC. However, they aren't particularly applicable to my degree but that is only because I don't do accountancy at university. Overall, the training was useful.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was great. Everyone was very friendly, from associate-level to Partner-level. The office itself is also amazing, it was a lovely place to work in and very modern. The integration amongst people of varying levels was also good, there didn't seem to be many clique's within the office.
Overall, I would say that the internship was very well organised. From the residential induction to the way that the local office catered for interns was great. The only time that I would say I felt it was disorganised was when I wasn't assigned to a job on a particular week and it would often take a large proportion of the morning to sort out. However, resourcing were generally always very helpful.
I believe that the company invested a fair bit in our training and development. During the induction week, we had some intensive training which was useful to some degree. It has also been very useful having a career coach and buddy who have been able to assist my development during my short time here.

I haven't yet found out if I have been offered a job yet, but the career trajectory at PwC seems good. It seems that in the first 3/4 years of your time at PwC, that there are multiple opportunities to move up the hierarchy and this is very appealing to me.
The Culture
Everyone else who was doing the placement was really nice and sociable. We have been able to go out for drinks after work on multiple occasions and everyone has been included. Whenever we are in the office together, it can be really good to sit together and speak about our various experiences.
The clubs and bars in Leeds are great and very good price wise. There are a range of places for people that like to go somewhere different every time. It is also suitable for different age groups, we have often gone out with people much older than us and they have loved it!
