    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my internship at PwC specifically the whole team aspect of it as I feel that when you are with a team and you are all working towards a common goal, it makes the task easier and more enjoyable. Overall, I really enjoyed this internship and would highly recommend!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt immediately valued by my colleagues as on my first day I was immediately introduced to the client and not only the financial teams of the client but also the seniors of the company. As well as this whenever tasks were set I was asked for an input and whenever I had a suggestion this was value, taken on board and sometimes even used.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I felt as if I was supported by my management/ supervisors whenever I was stuck or found anything hard. As well as this I feel as if there was a balance that was struck as I felt as if I was allowed to try and find out how to do a task before being given help.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It depended really on the day itself and whether we were close to signing period when it comes to business. If we were closer to signing period then I would be more busy as more work needed to be done but if it was immediately after signing period then I was not as busy and would work a regular day.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a reasonable amount of responsibility during my placement with regards to client work. I was in charge of proofreading accounts just before they were being prepared to be signed. Also if I had any queries with regards to the client I was entrusted with going to speak to the client by myself.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I feel as if the skills I developed helped me with my degree studies and beyond as the relationship skills that I developed with regards to dealing with clients I will be able to take forward into degree and future life as I am more comfortable and confident when it comes to communicating with people that I have just met for the first time.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It depends on whether you are in the client site, what type of client site you are in or whether you are based in the office as the office itself had a more relaxed vibe but depending on the client, the client site could have a relaxed or a more serious atmosphere.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I feel as if the overall internship was well organised as there were always tasks for me to be dealing with. In addition to this the tasks that were set up for me were not impossibly hard as I feel as if the difficulty of the tasks built up through the internship as I got more comfortable and familiar with the processes.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I feel as if the firm invested in me in a large way with regards to personal training and development as we were taken away for a training course that lasted 3 days to familiarise ourselves to an extent with what happens within the company. As well as this technically we were equipped with laptops and phones.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Company Parties/Events

    Working from home

    Travel loan

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would say that future employment prospects within the organisation are quite appealing. I would say this as the future prospects would involve working in a team which I feel is good as you are able to build relationships within the firm as well as the fact that there may be opportunities to travel.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I would say that the social scene amongst fellow colleagues would really depend on the team and where you are based as if you are part of a more outgoing team then the social scene would be in accordance with that and also vice versa with a more reserved team.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I would say that it depends but obviously the cost of socialising would be expensive as you would expect if you are living in London and I would assume that the cost of living would also be similar but in my case I am from London and was able to live at home.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I was based in Uxbridge and in this are I would say the nightlife is not great but by being in Uxbridge you are on the metropolitan line and are able to get into London quickly where the nightlife would be significantly better but it would also be very expensive

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I would say there were many opportunities as not only would you be able to get involved in activities with colleagues but also with regards to the company they have sporting activities set up weekly such as football, as well as the fact there are socials that are lined up.
