The Role
The work and the job itself was good and you got to experience a lot of different clients but doing exams at the same time is very difficult.
Working in a team has always been fun and you get to experience lots of different teams.
Managers and Incharges were always there to help out when you're struggling, Although most of the time it was via online chats.
Most of the time I was busy but at the beginning and during the year I was sometimes available for work and it was often difficult to find work
You were always part of the team which meant you had your own work to do.
I learnt a lot about auditing and difficult testing that is required. We also did some training days on the basics of auditing and assurance which were useful.
The Company
I think that maybe if you're in a smaller office it is easier to socialise. As my office was so big it was a lot harder. We had social groups where we did a few socials during the year.
It was organised although when I joined my location wasn't right. which was stressful. Most of the time you know which jobs you're on in advance but now and again it changes last minute.
We did few training days which were useful at the beginning but nothing else during the year
National Travel
I believe it was good as a placement year but a less stressful environment when it comes to exams is something I am looking for but it has really helped me learn what I want in a job and also a lot about what being an auditor is about
The Culture
There were some socials during the year.
I am living in private student halls and it was very expensive compared to where I went to University. Living in the centre of town was expensive but I was close to the office which was good.
The nightlife was okay, there were lots of bars and restaurants around.
There was a football and netball club which was good and you can volunteer at PwC events.
