Role Description

I have worked as part of the office, industrial and retail agency teams, assisting them with their day to day work.

1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

I have really enjoyed my time with Savills. I fell that during my summer scheme, I have had the chance to learn a lot of the type of work the different teams within the firm do and I have also been able to learn a lot oabout the industry as a whole and real estate markets.

2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?

I have had the chance to work in three different teams in the office. Within each of the three teams, I feel like my work has been valued and I feel as though I have been integrated well into each team. The members of the team have taken the time to get to know more about me and have tried their best to get my involved with projects that they are doing.

3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?

I have received a lot of guidance from the teams that I have been working in. they have taken the time to explain the type of work they do so that I understand the purpose and relevance of the work I was doing. At any time if I have not understood fully what I needed to do, the teams I have worked in have been more than happy to explain it again to me and point me in the right direction. Similarly, if I have had an questions that have gone beyond the scope of the work I have been doing, the teams have been very helpful and have given me thorough answers and explanations.

4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

The skills I have developed and the information I have come across as part of this scheme will help me in my studies at university. They have given more some more detailed and technical knowledge of real estate markets. In addition it has allowed me to see theoretical concepts, that I have studied, in real world terms and has, thus, solidified my existing knowledge. I feel that the skills I have developed whilst participating in the scheme will be useful should I chose to pursue a career in real estate.

The general atmosphere of the office has been upbeat and enjoyable. It is clear that the Savills employees that I have worked with enjoy their line of work and this has been reflected in their enthusiasm. It is also clear that the teams within the office get on well as their members have been very welcoming and have been very friendly throughout my time with them.

7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

The firm has invested their time in me as their employees have taken time out of their days to teach me the fundamentals of the work they do. In addition, centrally organized training sessions have given an overview of the departments in the firm and the type of work that each firm does.
