    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed it somewhat overall. I had an extensive amount of opportunities and networking events, I had a good team that supported my career and personal development, whilst being assigned a personal mentor.

    3/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My job I felt carried a lot of responsibility, there was definitely no shadowing like I have heard in other placements.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had 1 to 1 meetings regularly, I have reviews where I can discuss my progression and next steps and I felt I could always ask from someone with a great amount of experience.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • My work came in peaks and troughs. Some days I would find that I had far too much to do and others I lacked some work. However, that could fall down to my time management skills.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • A lot of responsibility for sure, I definitely wasn't shadowing. There were times during events where they gave me the job to run it, that was an interesting and challenging experience.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • We have brain candy as personal tool to help with personal and professional growth. I will most certainly use these for university to finish my work earlier, receive feedback and act on that to ensure that I get higher grades.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was like a typical american corporation, quite relaxed and reasonably chatty. However, I did feel as due to it being so results driven, there were some times where it felt a bit toxic and people lacked empathy.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was well organised, however there is a lack of communication in regards to its graduation scheme as nothing seems to be set in stone.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I believe this should come down to your own proactive approach. If you are willing to go above and beyond and seek external courses to benefit you professionally, I know they would.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Above 25 days holiday

    Working from home

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • There is no clear communication in regards to its grad scheme so I would say it isn't too appealing. Also, with it being a large corporation, it is very difficult for progression.

    2/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We had 2 social secretary's so there was definitely a good social scene and opportunities to bond outside of work.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Still more expensive than i am used to further up north, however because of its proximity to London, I think it is very fair.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Not much else to say, it's great and especially with work colleagues.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes of course, that is up to the individual to make the most of it.

    5/5
