    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • My first experience in a large corporate environment, and so much better than I thought it would be - loved the culture and the nature of my role - everyday was different and engaging

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues were so welcoming from my first day and were always around to help me. Everyone in my office and team were so friendly and made me feel capable and valued in the team

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My line manager was constantly supportive and caring about my progress and how I felt on the job. She provided me with opportunities to challenge myself and extend my skills, but equally always ensured I was comfortable and capable with my workload

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Fairly busy. I learnt that time management was important and how to prioritise my workload. However, every day was different and some days were busier than others, so I didn't feel burnt out or that I had nothing to do

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Got to collaborate on pieces whilst leading my own projects, had a lot of individual responsibility on how I approached my work and how I wanted to complete my tasks and present them

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I believe all the skills I learnt through experience on my internship will give me a boost throughout my final year in terms of personal and work skills, but soon enough I will be looking for grad roles and this experience has prepped me more than I would have expected in terms of entering the world of work, the value in networking, working in an office team, leading projects, and more

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Great! It was open plan so always opportunity to have conversations, wasn't deadly quite or extremely loud, nice to sit somewhere different everyday

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Considering it was a large organisation, I never felt that my internship was poorly organised, I always felt important and that my time here was organised - there were events and opportunities for all interns, but we were also expected to take initiative and create our own opportunities

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There was so much opportunity and freedom for my own personal development. I felt that my team itself invested in me by giving me a voice and letting me take lead on pieces, whilst being there to support me and letting me have insight into their own work

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • seems like an amazing place to work with so much opportunity for career building

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • yes - everyone brought themselves to work rather than a corporate shell which was so comforting as a student to be around - made it so much easier to network and blend into the culture

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • decent

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • decent!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, there were many opportunities both generally in the city and "extra curricular" at work - so many different networks, groups, communities beyond the actual 9-5 day

    5/5
