    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The structure was great, I felt as though they were prepared and ready for me to arrive and they had organised socials and training events throughout the two weeks for us all to get involved in - in order to gain a perspective into the different departments.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • I had so much fun, my department were so lovely and I felt part of the team as they included me in all of their inside jokes. I felt like the right balance was struck between social events and work.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • From the moment I started I was sat down and given a run-down of the department and the types of work they do, as well as the types of work I would be doing during my time with them. I was also given work to do that had the aim of improving my personal development.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Every piece of work I was given, and I completed was relevant and I could see how it was going to help the client. The type of work I did was akin to that of a trainee Solicitor, and this made me feel excited to work a full time job with the firm.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • I immediately noticed that the visions and values cited on the company website, were in fact accurate. Every person I met encapsulated the core visions and values that were stated on the website. I also experienced first hand the cross departmental nature of the firm - doing work with other departments and being able to see how that work would benefit them and their respective clients.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Incredibly valuable. I was already set on this career path after some short work experiences. But this two weeks in the firm allowed me a proper flavour of the career and of Gateley. I was excited and motivated every single day and was always up for being given more work.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was paid for this experience. The amount of pay was very generous and reflected the amount and type of work that I had been completing.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • My department made sure that I was involved in lots of work that was cross departmental. We had socials with the trainees and then had a lunch with two partners. My interview and group presentation also enabled me to meet other partners.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The networking events and socials were great and a lot of fun! It enabled me to see that the lovely and friendly attitude of my department was not limited to that department, but that it was in fact firm wide.

  • I heard about sporting activities and extra-curriculars that many of the employees got themselves involved in.
